Raising backyard chickens is back in full swing as the latest gardening sensation. We’ve all heard stories of our great-grand parents and grand parents having a hen-house in the yard, bringing that tradition back is what we’re all about!
We love beautiful hens and we love conservation. We offer many of the breeds on the Heritage Canada conservation list, and are working closely to offer genetic diversity from the Rare Breeds of Canada list. We carry the only Canadian chicken breed: The Chantecler, offered in white, buff and partridge (by request only).
We also carry many classic heirloom breeds and some new popular breeds that will make your egg basket the envy of any store bought carton. From a variety of French Marans who lay dark chocolate eggs and Ameraucana who lay green-blue tinted eggs, we offer an excellent variety the breeds for your personal selection. Including “Olive-Eggers” a new cross-breed developed to lay olive tinted eggs!
It is important to us that our quality is at it’s highest, and that we support the needs of all of our clients and feathered friends. This is why we begin rearing all of our chicks organically from day-one!
